Hello, I am Louise Frost, a plant consultant based in Lichfield. I come to visit your garden, assess and then works alongside you — from choosing the plants to placing them ready for you to put in the ground.

Firstly I come to visit your garden. Walk the space with you, gets to know how you use it and what you're hoping for. I check your soil — its type, its quality, its quirks — so that every plant I recommend is genuinely suited to what's already there and the solution to your problem.
I then take you to a local trade nursery. Not a garden centre. A trade wholesale nursery — the kind of place most people never get access to. I browse with you, and guides every choice so you leave with plants that will actually thrive at less than you ever expected to spend. You benefit from my trade discount.
You plant it together. Back in your garden, I stay with you to place everything. Not a dropped-off delivery and a wave goodbye. I am there, supporting your planting, advising on depth and position, making sure it is positioned and gets planted correctly. My clients either plant themselves or organise their gardener to undertake if they prefer.
How to work with me
Full Consultation Day with in-depth support — £295
This is the whole thing: the garden visit, the soil assessment, the nursery trip and the planting day. I am with you throughout. It's a single, all-in fee with no add-ons or surprises.
For garden owners struggling with knowing what to plant or how to plant. This package is designed to give you clear answers, ongoing support, and a structured plan that actually works in real gardens
We start with a 60-minute consultation to fully understand your garden, the soil, the sun or shade situation as a whole. From there, we head to a local trade only plant nursery and purchase plants which suit the spot you are looking to improve and what problem you are looking to solve.
Support includes:
- Soil check
- Positioning and current planting conditions
- Shopping trip together (or we can shop for you) to a trade only plant nursery.
- Between us both we bring the plants back to your garden and I help position your plants ready for you to dig in.
Once you have completed your day we advise you sign up for ongoing support so you’re never left feeling unsure or stuck, giving you the confidence to keep your garden design and planting moving forward, throughout the seasons.
Ongoing Retainer — £50 per month
Once your garden is planted, it helps to have someone to call on. The monthly retainer gives you an hour of plant support time each month — use it as a phone or video call, a quick visit, or let it accrue and take a half-day of her time once a quarter. Whatever works best for you and your garden in that season.
During the winter months (Dec-Feb) we accrue the 3 x 1 hours and plan a little visit in early March ready for the spring season.
A local service, rooted in Lichfield.
Frost & Foliage is a plant advisory service based in Lichfield and serves gardens across the surrounding area — including Burntwood, Rugeley, Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Burton upon Trent and the villages in between.
Being local matters. I know the region's soil conditions, its microclimates and its seasons. I am not travelling from hours away and billing you for the privilege — I am your neighbour, and I bring that familiarity with the local landscape to every garden I work in.
